Web Design

Whatever the size of your business, a presence on the world wide web is now becoming an essential part of any company's long term future. We can advise on which type of site would best suit your needs and budget, ranging from a single page web presence to a multi page, fully e-commerce enabled site.

We understand that every business is different and offer a personalised solution to best suit your individual requirements. Following an initial FREE consultation we endeavour to build a working relationship with our clients and keep them fully informed and involved in the design process.

Our philosophy is to build attractive, easy to read, easy to navigate and quick to load web sites,   incorporating graphical images or digital pictures as required.

Our rates are extremely competitive, starting from as little as £200 for a basic web presence.

Once the web site has been created to the clients satisfaction, we register the site with all the major search engines, including Google, Yahoo, Alta-Vista, Excite, UK Plus and Lycos.

If required, Focus Direct can provide on-going support  and maintenance for the site as part of an annual maintenance contract.

Web Hosting

Having developed the web site, it needs to be 'published' to a server with access to the World Wide Web (WWW) in order for it to become visible to people 'surfing' the Internet.  Space on these servers are leased in the form of web hosting packages (usually for 12 month periods).

Depending on the physical size and technical content of the site, Focus Direct can recommend the most suitable web hosting package and take care of all the administrative tasks involved in setting up the package on your behalf.

We only deal with specialist hosting providers, with reliable, high speed servers and guaranteed service levels. These factors help to ensure that your site will be 'visible' to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Domain Name Registration

A domain name is a unique address that identifies your web site on the Internet. It also forms the basis of your e-mail address. For example, registering the domain name 'www.yourcompany.co.uk' would enable you to use an e-mail address such as 'sales@yourcompany.co.uk'.

Even if you are not ready to join the internet revolution just yet, you should consider registering your domain name before somebody else does.

Focus Direct will carry out a search to see if your chosen domain name is still available and then reserve the domain (in your company name) for the following fee:

The above prices are inclusive of all InterNIC / Registrar fees, together with 50 FREE e-mail addresses (e.g. sales@yourcompany.co.uk) and FREE e-mail forwarding to your existing e-mail account. Please note that the minimum registration period for '.co.uk' domain names is 2 years.

E-mail Accounts

Focus Direct can assist clients in setting up new or additional e-mail accounts and installing e-mail processing software (e.g. Outlook Express) on their PCs if required.

We can also provide advice on Internet Service Providers (ISP) and can install ISP software as required to enable e-mail and Internet access.

Please note that in order to access e-mails or the Internet your PC requires a modem.

E-commerce

Any retailer should consider the advantages of customers being able to see and buy their products on the Internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A unique feature of the Actinic package is the ability to process credit card orders through the retailers existing PDQ machine in the same way as other 'Customer Not Present' transactions (subject to PDQ supplier agreement).   For further product information click on the Actinic logo above.

Digital Imaging

Graphics play an important part on many web sites. Not only as a means of displaying your products or services but also to make your site more interesting and attractive to viewers.

Focus Direct can incorporate images taken with our digital camera or scanned from  your existing company literature or photographs (see examples below).

Search Engines

No matter how good you web site might be, it is worthless if nobody knows about it. This is where Internet Search Engines (such as Google, Yahoo, Alta-Vista, Excite, UK Plus and Lycos) come into play. Your site needs to be registered with all the major search engines, so that when someone is searching for a product or service that your company offers, your web site appears in the list of sites returned.

Every search engine ranks web sites in different ways. Our knowledge and experience of building web sites ensures that your site will rank highly in the search results list. An important part of this process is the regular re-submission of your site to the major search engines (including position monitoring and keyword modifications). Focus Direct can provide this service as part of an annual maintenance contract.

Training

We can provide straightforward, jargon free advice and training, which will enable even the most inexperienced PC user to effectively utilise the invaluable resources of the Internet.

Our experience of visiting clients has also highlighted the need for specialised training in other general use software packages, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The service we offer differs from other training companies in that, rather than giving a general overview of the whole package (much of which may not be relevant), we concentrate on the specific parts of the package you need to use to help run your business efficiently on a day to day basis.
